Scott was 12 years old when he got started in Motocross. He had a family friend that rode Motocross and he found that extremely interested so he got his first bike which was a Honda XR75.
The things he enjoys the most about motocross are the challenge that comes with racing, the tracks, good friends and the drive to always see a checkered flag. He picked the #66 because it was Jim Hall’s Can Am Chaparral’s number back in the 70’s.
Scott found out about AZOT back in December of 2010 when he was racing at Speed World. He met some of the guys from AZOT and they talked him into racing with us.
He has raced in almost EVERY ONE of our AZ Vet International races but he’s also participated in several of the other Chapter’s Int’l races too. His fondest memory from those races happened back when he was battling against Greg Fry & Carmen Ogino…the 3 of them always rotated winning.
His biggest crash was in Sept 2021 in Idaho where he, 2021 when he shattered his Left Collar Bone, Broken Hip/Femur/Astabular. He spent a whopping 17 days in Utah Hospital and had 2 surgeries but thanks to his wife, Denise and some of his very good friends like Daniel Barker, Andy Smith, Gary & Mark for that got him back up & running 6 months later.
When I asked Scott how competitive he is when it comes to racing motocross he said he was a “9” because he loves the adrenaline that he gets while racing and he loves chasing the checkered flag BUT he doesn’t like losing.
