Commonly Asked Questions

What Class would I race? 

Locally, we have 4 classes: Master (fastest), Expert (wish they are masters-lol), Intermediate (the most common) and Novice (beginner to... well Novice, a class for everyone! We Race a Spring and a Fall Series each year, while taking the summer off to get out of the heat. It's a good time to go and try a Northern Chapter's International race.

How old do I need to be? 

 Locally we classify our members based on one of the above classes you will fit into the best  despite age, we are open to those 30+. Average age is probably around 50.

At the International races, you'll fit into Ability/Skill level as well as an Age group. Example: 40+ Master/Expert/Int./Novice... 50+, 60+, 70+ and even 75 and 80! At the International races you race against those in your age range - which is nice. You can read more of the International Race Rules. 

What's the IOTMX? 

Glad you asked, it is the International Old Timers Motocross organization. There are 10 clubs from Canada down the West Coast to Az. that are Chapter clubs to the IOTMX. Each Club or Chapter hosts an Annual 2 day race with 4 or 5 timed motos. Opportunities to travel and race big name tracks like - Hangtown, Glen Helen and Washougal!! Whats with the colored backgrounds?

 Colored backgrounds and Numbers identify which class you race locally and at the Internationals: Black w/ white numbers are Masters. White with black numbers are Experts. Yellow with black numbers are Intermediates. Green with white numbers are Novices.  pretty easy eh!

Benefits to joining us....

Meet great guys and gals who still enjoy competitive but safe MX Racing. There are Club Series Awards, Ride Days where the club rents the track, end of series parties, plus we get our own practices sessions during race day and generally earlier motos. Everyone is invited to come out to our monthly club meetings and express their ideas and even become part of the Executive Board.
