INTERVIEW |
Classic motorcycle restoration, home repairs & reading John actually got into motocross racing about 22 years ago when his son, Tommy decided he wanted to race motocross instead of working on his eagle scout project. Motocross was something they could do together. He enjoys the total flow of motocross and how it suspends time so he can get “lost in the moment”.
He has raced several of the AZOT International races over the years like at the Nevada Club near Reno, Hangtown near Sacramento and his favorite was at Glen Helen in Southern California. One of his most vivid memories was when he was temporarily abandoned at the hospital & then being dropped off & abandoned again at an Las Vegas Nissan dealership in the middle of the night after the driver’s truck burned up a differential. John’s favorite motocross memory is being at the Bank One Ballpark and watching Kevin Windham win one of the Supercross races right in front of him.
When I asked John how competitive he was when it comes to racing Motocross…he said that he was a 5 because he always gets left in the dust.
John Dolan has also served as the AZOT’s Secretary or Treasurer for the past 8 years and he did a wonderful job for the club in both positions. |

Great write up on John. It’s always a pleasure to see, ride and race with John.
