Brian’s Dad bought him a dirt bike when he was 12 years old so Brian started building himself a scrapbook with pictures of the Honda Elsinore which was the race bike that he wanted and then Brian started racing motocross when he was 15 years old.

The things Brian enjoys the most about motocross is trying to conquer the whole track, all the obstacles along with all the riders together at once. All in the name of fun!

He picked the bike #86 back in 1990 but the # didn’t fit so he decided to go with #54 because everything in his life seems to fit the #54 so he’s stuck with it.

Brian and his friend Bart Kellog raced with the AZOT club back in 2006 but he soon became a snowbird and finally joined the club.

He has raced in most of the AZOT/AZ VET International races since 2006. He won the championship in the 40+ Expert class in 2007 and in 2013 he also won the 50+ Expert class. His favorite memory happened at Canyon when he pulled the hole shot because the track was really slippery so the bike ended up turning him around backwards and he got knocked out. He doesn’t remember anything until 3 races later when he was sitting on his motorcycle next to his van.

When I asked Brian how competitive he is when it comes to racing motocross, he said he was a #8 because he loves to get good starts, race close, have fun & win whenever possible.
